PRESIDENT'S LETTER - WINTER 2026

Happy New Year to our fellow School Bus Contractors!

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Now it's time to get back on the road as we head into 2026, continuing our important work of safely delivering Maryland's most precious cargo.

Our new Executive Director and legislative lobbyist, Marty Lostrom, has shared that the 2026 Maryland General Assembly—convening January 14 for its 90-day session—promises to be an interesting one. This year brings significant changes, including a new Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates, Joseline Peña-Melnyk, who represents Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties. In addition, several new committees have been formed, and nearly every committee will see new leader and membership.

There has never been a more important time to remain united. We are strongest when we stand together, and growing our membership is critical. I ask each of you to reach out to a fellow contractor who is not currently a member of MSBCA and encourage them to join. Please consider inviting them to attend our quarterly business meeting this month. This is how we continue to demonstrate our strength and value to our school districts and state representatives.

Speaking of our Quarterly Business Meeting, please plan to join us for our Winter Quarterly Meeting on Saturday, January 31, at 9:00 a.m. at Friendly Farms in Upperco, Maryland.
